On the heels of three straight road losses , the BU men’s basketball team (3-8) will be back in the friendly confines of Case Gym (also know as the Roof) on Wednesday, January 3, at 7 p.m. to take on a hot Holy Cross team (8-6) that was picked to finish second in the Patriot League this year.

The Terriers — who nearly upset St. John’s in a heartbreaking 45-44 overtime loss on December 28 — are led by sensational freshman Corey Lowe (CGS’08), a two-time America East Rookie of the Week, and senior cocaptain Omari Peterkin (CAS’07), a transfer from Notre Dame. Peterkin is shooting a conference-best 61.7 percent from the floor.

The first 500 fans through the doors will receive a free BU basketball T-shirt, and prizes will be given away, including a weekend package at Hotel Commonwealth, a 30-second shopping spree at Barnes & Noble at BU, and Beanpot tournament tickets. In addition, faculty and staff who bring a BU ID can buy basketball tickets for $5 at the Agganis or Brown Arena box offices on game day and receive free tickets for up to four family members as well as a  voucher for a free hot dog, small soda, and popcorn. Tickets cost $10 for the general public and $5 for BU students. For more information, click here or call 617-353-GOBU.
