Visit https://learn.bu.edu and log in using your BU username and password.

Importing List of Participants from your Blackboard Learn course into the TurningPoint client

Why do I need this?

When you download the participant list into the TurningPoint client, you enable TurningPoint to match the individual answers with the appropriate student. If you are just interested in anonymous polling you will not need a participant list.

Following the steps below, you will be able to download participant lists of students from your Blackboard Learn course for use in the TurningPoint client.

  1. In your TurningPoint client, log in using your BU username and Kerberos password.
    TPCloudapplogin
  2. Once you are logged in, click on the MANAGE tab, then go to the Participant List drop down menu, and click New.
    Import_List_To_Cloud_2

  3. Select the Download from Integration radio button, then click Create List.
    Import_List_To_Cloud_3
  4. Select Blackboard from the Integration drop down menu and type in the Server Address as: https://learn.bu.edu. Use your BU username and password. Since you might not want to fill in this information every time you access this function, check the box next to Remember this information, and then click Connect.
    Import_List_To_Cloud_4

    5. You must be connected to the Internet to retrieve the information from the Blackboard server. A list of all the courses for which you are listed as an Instructor will be displayed. Select the course(s) for which you want to download the participant list from Blackboard. To select one or multiple courses check the box in front of the Course ID and Course Name. When you are ready click Import. Turning Point will tell you when the participant lists were successfully imported. After you click the OK button, the downloaded list(s) will show up on the left-hand column, named by the official BU Course ID.
