Undergraduate AI Writing Affiliate Fellowship

The CAS Writing Program is seeking undergraduates to serve as AI affiliates. Affiliates will work with an AI-intensive section of WR 151, WR 152, or WR 153 in Spring 2025. The students enrolled in these pilot sections will have access to a ChatGPT Teams subscriptions and permission to experiment with generative AI in ways that enhance their learning. The AI affiliate will support the students and the instructor in this work and will be provisioned a seat within the ChatGPT Teams subscription. Each AI affiliate will work with an individual section to collaborate with the instructor to understand how students use AI and to support students in practicing ethical and meaningful AI-mediated writing and research. AI affiliates selected to receive these fellowships will serve as a bridge between students and faculty, and their input will help inform BU’s approaches to teaching writing and research with AI going forward. They will also gain experience in a real-world application of generative AI, developing technical and communication skills that will be critically important in many fields.

AI affiliates should expect to work 100 hours, most of which will be in-person during the semester. Pre-semester and post-semester responsibilities can be performed remotely. $1700 total, paid weekly January-May.
