  1. Thank you for a good article. However, in the paragraph describing the 2006 (mis)reporting of President Bush’s “special preference” in the Texas Air National Guard, I believe the subject is President George W. Bush, NOT President George H. W. Bush, whose service in World War II is well documented and uncontested.

  2. Regarding the 60 minutes report: “We reported a true story,” he said. “I made some mistakes. We made mistakes.” He did not tell the truth and will not admit it. This is more than a “mistake”. He was out to get George W Bush.
    This is not journalism. Student should look into the facts and not use Mr. Rather as a mentor.
    Its too bad because he had an otherwise incredible career.
